Our Wedding at Tern Hill Hall: Natasha Sharp tells us about her March Wedding

2nd August 2017

As a local girl, it was important to me that one day I would get married near the place where I grew up, so to finally have my Wedding Day at Tern Hill Hall, was just perfect. It was a truly beautiful day and one that my husband Aaron and I will remember for ever.

A chance meeting at a work’s training event and Aaron and I were inseparable from that moment on. Originally from London, Aaron made the move up to Shropshire so that we could be together. He loves the area as much as I do, so once we had got engaged, we were keen to celebrate our marriage with our friends and family around us, within the County that our little family now call home.

Tern Hill Hall was the first venue that we went to see and from the minute we stepped into the Hall, we both felt very at home. From then on, we knew that this was the place for us! The staff were so friendly and helpful, there really wasn’t any request that was too much, they worked very hard to give us the wedding day of our dreams.

As we got married in the Spring, we were keen to go a little more un-conventional when it came to our wedding theme. Our wedding colours were blues and pinks with the additional details of doves and butterflies pulled into the theme. We loved it and the overall effect was very pretty. We had 140 guests to the wedding reception and so, to say thank you for coming, we chose small boxes of chocolates for the ladies and miniature, personalised bottles of brandy for the gents. These all went down very well!

The food on the day was wonderful and nothing short of excellent. We chose a traditional roast for the main course followed by a trio of desserts. We had many compliments from our guests on the food, which was lovely to hear.

We had many special moments throughout our wedding day, but one particular moment that sticks in my mind was when it came to the first dance. My mum and I had secretly been planning and practicing a mother-daughter dance with a local dance teacher…even my dad didn’t know! We were a little worried that Aaron might wonder off and miss the whole thing, but Laura at Tern Hill Hall worked her co-ordination magic and our routine to a medley of ‘Thriller’, ‘Tragedy’ and ‘We are Family’, went down a storm. Another lovely touch was my mum’s surprise addition to the day. She had found lots of photographs of Aaron and I when we were little and working with Laura, she had arranged to swap the table numbers for these photographs, whilst we were travelling from the church to the venue. It was an amazing surprise and a very special memory that we will treasure.

After such a fantastic day, we are always the first to recommend Tern Hill Hall when we speak with any newly engaged couple. My mum still tells everyone how friendly and efficient the staff at Tern Hill Hall are; nothing was too much trouble and as a result, we had a very personal and very special wedding there.
